Challenges
Scale web content for the mobile environment.
Make awesome content discoverable.
Provide the opportunity to join San José Strong.
Results

Simplified navigation and content layouts
Brought featured content to the forefront
Created location-based filters for content
Strategy
I choose to use a Lean UX framework to develop a minimum viable product I could use for evaluation. Since San José Strong already had a website most of the research was performed by the website designer. I met weekly with the app developers to present my sketches for technical validation. Then I created prototypes for end-user and product owner validation.
Evaluate
Awesome content is not at the forefront.
Navigating through could be easier with mobile controls.
Site content could be reorganized.
Sketch & Present
I sketched out wireframes using InVision whiteboards
I evaluated and mapped out the current site structure
based on this I proposed a minimum viable product for prototyping
Prototype
Validation
I reviewed an interactive prototype with the stakeholders.
I found there are some key functions such as user account support that need to be prioritized before other features can be implemented.
Next Steps
Continue to meet with the app development team weekly
Prioritize upcoming features such as blog entries, account support, and networking
